From 2006-2009, Becker further honed his skills through training the Men’s and Women’s Olympic Sports Teams at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on a volunteer basis.

Following his experiences with the Bucks and UW-Milwaukee, Becker spent the 2009-2010 NBA Season with the Portland Trail Blazers as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. During his time in Portland, Steve worked with All-Star forward Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, the 1st overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. Steve represented the Trail Blazers at the 2010 NBA pre-draft camp, taking player measurements as well as coaching them through strength, speed and agility testing.

While in Portland, Steve volunteered his time training the University of Oregon Men’s basketball team of the Pac-10. Additionally, Steve worked at the Nike Hoops Summit, a high school basketball game organized by Nike Basketball that featured the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Select Team and the World Select Team.

Steve has since expanded his professional portfolio into the international arena. Steve’s relationship with the Southern Tigers continues to this day, as he will be training the team in Los Angeles during Summer 2017 in preparation for the Provincial Games in China.

During the Summer of 2016, Steve traveled to Hawaii and Australia to create a unique strength and conditioning training program for San Antonio Spurs point guard Patty Mills in the lead up to Mills’ appearance with the Australian National Team for the 2016 Olympics. Mills continued with Steve’s program for the duration of the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. Steve continues to work with Mills on his strength and conditioning.

Steve has further served as a performance consultant for the Chinese National Team, Junior National Team and other teams from the Chinese Basketball Association at the United States Basketball Academy.

Steve’s primary role is owner and operator of Athlete Performance, LLC in Mequon, Wisconsin, which he founded in 2010.
